FLASH MOB FASHION in the streets of BRIGHTON
12 models performed a 3 1/2 minute routine in East Street, Brighton to publicise the local shops. The music was played loudly and the crowds watched.

A FASHION SHOW SUCCESS
Saturday 9th April was the 4th Brighton Fashion show at the Jury's Inn Waterfront Hotel in Brighton. Guy Lloyd from Juice 107.2 hosted the afternoon shows. We had over 400 people watch the 12 gorgeous models show outfits from this Spring/Summer season.
I styled, staged and produced the shows with a flash mob in East Street between the fashion shows and between the showers!!
Everyone worked as a team - Thanks to everyone involved the feedback has been fantastic.

The 4th Brighton Fashion Show - Saturday 9th April
This afternoon of FREE fashion shows celebrates the Brighton shops and highlights the trends for this Spring/Summer.
There will be 12 gorgeous girl and boy models with their hair styled by Ciscos Karma and makeup by bareMinerals.
Hosting the afternoon again will be Guy Lloyd from Juice 107.2 and Sophie Corbett. The Mayor of Brighton and Hove, Cllr Lynda Hyde will be coming along to open the first show at 2pm.

SPRING/SUMMER TRENDS 2016
Look out for the key trends coming from the designer catwalks into our high streets.
DENIM - Do not be afraid to wear denim on demin. Dungarees are back as trousers, shorts and dresses. New season jeans are skinny and boot leg shaped.
SHINE
Sequines, crystals, lurex, lame and an overload on embellishments. Check out easy summer shimmer, space age metallics and full-blown 80's glamour.
SLIP DRESS
The 90's slip dress is the S/S 16 key piece. Simple, strappy, slippery, sensuous silks and satins with scalloped lingerie lace.
STRIPES
Bold solid stripes as dresses, skirts, trousers, shirts and jackets. This Spring prints are bold, horizontal, vertical, thick, thin multicoloured, monochrome, soft pastels or optical and angular. Look out for these stripes in chiffons, satins and other textures.
RUFFLES
Ruffles full of femininity. Whether you wear ruffles all over as above or minimally on the sleeves or added to the bottom of a blouse or skirt. Notice the 'off the shoulder' style is a key look this season.
ACCESSORIES
Rucksacks are back - very practical.
Handbags in graphic shapes, designed and colours.
Add a tiara to give your outfit a glamour fresh look.
Earring - extra long and delicate to elongate your neck.
Casual shoes are going backless and slipper style.

Christmas Gifts - useful or unwanted?
Nowadays it is so easy to buy on line and we all have such personal tastes that buying gifts for our friends and family is getting so hard as everyone has so much.
It is lovely to come up with the perfect surprise gift for your partner, friend or family but it is difficult.
A perfect present is one that is totally relevant, a surprise and it must fit in with the persons lifestyle and tastes and either be practical and useful or flippant and an indulgent. The gift must be wrapped and presented beautifully.
Giving useful gifts
If the person does not give any 'hints' think about their hobbies, their lifestyle, their likes and dislikes. Think outside the box - if they are foodie people, go into a cook shop and buy something in keeping with their tastes, something they would not buy themselves. Give a gift voucher for their favourite restaurant.
If you are giving theatre/concert tickets or a night away do make some enquires to make sure the date is free.
If buying clothes or shoes do be sure to buy the right size as buying something too big or too small will not go down well!
Even the most practical person likes to be flippant and would appreciate a pamper session or be indulged in some other way.
Keep away from giving perfumes, cosmetics, creams and lotions UNLESS you know the person uses the brand. Perfumes and cosmetics are very personal and you need to know that the person does not have allergies.
Really unless socks are needed by a person - they are not a very 'exciting' present!
Unwanted presents
It is very tempting to wrap and regift a present. You must be so careful that you do not give back to the person who gave it to you!
I am all for decluttering so to pass on unwanted gifts to a charity is ideal as the present will find its way to someone who can use it and at the same time raise some money for the charity.

CRUISE WARDROBE
Having worked on cruise ships in the past as a dancer and this year I have been invited on a couple of cruises to instruct workshops I thought I would share this with you. Cruising is a wonderful way to see different countries and to have a real rest.
Modern trends towards more casual
cruising, airline weight restrictions and limited wardrobe space in cabins
suggest that you pack as light as possible - unless you are travelling first
class and have a suite booked onboard. However you will need more clothes for a
cruise than any other type of holiday. Your cruise line with give an outline of the dress code as some of the traditional ships do not promote jeans and like men and women to have coverup when leaving the deck area to go inside.
DAYTIME ONBOARD - The daytime dress code on board is always casual:
For men - shorts, jeans (but check the ship's policy), chinos, T-shirts and sports shirts.
For ladies - shorts, casual trousers and skirts and sundresses.
Around the pool swimsuits of course, but you will need footwear and a cover up when you go inside the ship.
ASHORE - Some destinations are more formal than others and smart casual is more appropriate in Bermuda, Europe or the Far East that in the more relaxed Caribbean, Hawaii and Mexican Riviera.
Some countries have struck dress codes and ladies may need clothes that will cover both legs and shoulders. You will generally be more warmly welcomed in restaurants and shops if you are dressed widely. On active shore excursions ultra casual is OK.
EVENING - There is now a trend towards more casual cruising and a choice of dining options with different dress options. Cruise ships assign daily dress codes - casual, informal (smart casual) and formal. The dress code takes effect in public rooms and restaurants from 6pm onwards.
On traditional cruise ships, you can expect two formal nights, a couple of casual evenings when the ship has been into port and the rest informal on a weeks cruise. Black tie is the usual form for men on formal nights, though increasingly a smart suit will suffice Women can wear anything from a classic little black dress to a ball gown. On some ships you can rent formal attire. Do not forget smart shoes. For men a sports jacket and smart trousers worn with a shirt and tie or a polo shirt will meet the informal evening requirements.
For ladies smart casual is the common dress code for evenings other than formal. Dresses, tailored trousers and smart separates but not shorts. If formal evenings are not your bag then try the buffet dining or one of the alternative dining spots where the dress code does not apply.
GENERAL - Pack clothes and accessories you can mix and match. Pack shoes for walking ashore and a wrap even for a cruise in the sub as air conditioning onboard can be quite cold.
You will be provided with a bathrobe for the duration of the cruise on most luxury lines and in suites on the bigger ships.
Most ships have laundries so you can have you clothes washed or dry cleaned as you go, but this can be costly. Some ships have self-service launderettes.
Save some room in your suitcase for your shopping and souvenirs.

Plumpton Racecourse Wedding Photoshoot
I worked with Plumpton racecourse to put together a photoshoot to advertise their wedding venue.
We had a brilliant day to do the shoot and the run of the racecourse, paddock, event rooms and marque. The brochure has been produced and looks stunning.

We had a great team - Craig Payne was the photographer, Jo Jo Blackwood did the model's make up and Debbie from Artisan Hair House the model's hair. I put forward a selection of models for the client to choose, I sorted Sarah's dress and veil and Luke's outfit.

FLASH MOB FASHION SHOWS – Saturday 11th July 2015
Jane Busby styled and staged more fashion flash mob shows last
Saturday for the third year running.
After finalising the outfits with the shops, sorting the music with
Jonno Cox from Fickle Events and working out the schedule, Jane met the models
on Saturday morning to rehearse. Jane
went over the routines with the models for each of the 4 shops and Jayne
Vanessa Read worked on the model’s hair and makeup.
At 12.00 the 6 girls burst out of Rock Lobster in George Street,
Hove to the music ‘Dancing in the Streets’ looking stunning in the boutique’s
outfits. After just over 3 min the girls
disappeared back into the shop with several of the audience following in to try
on what they had just seen the models wearing.
Owners Michael and Debbie said it was brilliant – ladies were buying the
whole outfits from the catwalk.
The team then took taxis to Eyesite on North Street Brighton for
their next flash mob. This time it was 4
girls and 2 boys looking very sophisticated and cool in the designer sunglasses
from Eyesite. After a second flash mob outside
Eyesite the group moved onto Pretty Eccentric in Bond Street. The 6 girls changed into the gorgeous 1920’s
dresses and come out of the shop and performed a Charleston dance. It was not long before the crowds gathered to
see the girls transformed into flappers and showing off the beautiful dresses.
After Pretty Eccentric it was on to Movel shoes to put the final
touches to the shop’s opening day with a Brazilian flash mob dance. The 8 models wore the Brazilian inspired
trainers. The statement on the shop
window says ‘Let your ginga out - trainers designed to let the feet move
freely, fluidly and with confidence’.
The models certainly showed the trainers off and they made the trainers
irresistible to the crowds that stopped to watch.

PHOTOSHOOT for TITLE SUSSEX
Tittle Sussex launched their first issue in May featuring a fitness fashion shoot photographed by Erika Szostak and styled by myself.
I organised all the outfits and props and discussed with Erika the 'look' we wanted to create for the shoot. We decided we would go into a studio rather than use a location and wanted the photos to be modern but with a pop art feel. As the shoot was all about fitness we wanted to keep the mood fun and energetic and enhanced this by using bold block colours. The backgrounds are bright and contrast with the outfits to make them stand out. Our models, Amy and Aleksey were great, interacted well together and perfect 'look' for this sporty fashion feature. We created a fun, on trend set of photos which look great printed in the magazine and very inspirational.
