Help with post baby wardrobe

Your beautiful new baby has arrived
Everything is in chaos
No time to think about yourself
Chuck on the same old jeans and suitable baby feeding top
Been invited out! PANIC what to wear
Can’t fit into anything in your wardrobe
Feel a mess, lost your self esteem

HELP -HELP     Does this sound familiar?

Relax, stop and take a minute and lets think about your Colour, Style and Shape.

The good news is that the COLOURS that have always suited you will still do so and your STYLE will be the same.  It is likely that your SHAPE has changed for the time being and your LIFESTYLE and the requirements of your wardrobe are very different.

Look through your wardrobe and see what does fit you and – do you still like it and if yes put to one side.  Now, to bring these main pieces together you will now be able to have a clearer idea of what to buy in the shops.  Obviously with possibly more weight round your bust, tummy and thighs you will be looking for a larger size and soft material which moves with you rather something snug and clingy.  Keep to block dark colour on your bottom half and wear layers, small prints and designs on your top half to create a taller, leaner silhoutte.  You will feel better just going out and updating your wardrobe with something in this season’s colour and design.

I offer a personal shopping service tailored to Mums with babies and small children so please go to my website for further information - www.janebusby.co.uk or ring me NOW on 07860 136455 and mention this blog.

PURE - Looking at Trends for Spring/Summer 2015

Twice a year Pure is held at Olympia in London as a buying mecca for the independent shops and boutiques.  There are fashion shows and trend talks on how the statement fashion pieces are evolving from one season to the next.

Here is a glimpse of what we will find in the shops next Spring/Summer.

Abstract Art

Separates

Oversized jackets with soft gathered skirts.

Top to toe jumpsuits in silky fabrics.

Colours - Orange from blood orange to coral and deep moody blues.

White Out

Sheer inserts and panels are featured again next summer.

Soft fabrics giving a feminine sihouette.

ANOTHER SUCCESSFUL FASHION FLASH MOB in the streets of BRIGHTON and HOVE

On Saturday 19th July I organised another day of Fashion Flash mob shows in the streets of Hove and Brighton.

The 8 models had their hair and make up done by Jayne Vanessa Read in the morning and I rehearsed the modelling routines with them.

Our first Flash mob was at 12pm in George Street, Hove with 6 girl models wearing clothes from Rock Lobster Boutique.  Jonno Cox and Rich from Fickle Events played the music outside the shop and we created a real stir with many ladies going into Rock Lobster after and trying on the outfits they had seen on the models.

We then all taxied into Brighton to Flash Mob Joules in East Street - after a shower of rain.  However we still had about 200 people watching the 2 boys and 4 gorgeous girls showing the clothes from Joules.

After Joules the models went to Pretty Eccentric in Bond Street to put on the beautiful 1920's flapper dresses while Jonno and Rich set the speakers up.  The girls were so excited to see the wonderful beaded dresses and I had staged a charleston routine to The Black Bottom.  The crowds gathered and Michelle Scott the owner of Pretty  Eccentric said:-

"I just wanted to say massive thank you, to you and everyone involved in todays Flash Mob at Pretty Eccentric.
I've had a big smile on my face all afternoon. It was brilliant!"

Finally all excited we left Bond Street and all walked round to Laundry Boutique.

Laundry Boutique in Prince Albert Street has only been opened about 3 months and  the models looked stunning in their outfits.

SHOPPING FOR YOUR HOLIDAY

Mid Summer and the sales have started in most of the shops.  There are some excellent bargains to be had for updating summer wardrobes and for putting together your holiday outfits.

There are some basic rules when buying swimwear to enhance every body shape and boost confidence to make you feel great:-

Larger bust – halterneck or thicker straps with support in a bikini or tankini. The deep ‘V’ creates a fabulous cleavage while minimising the appearance of your bust.
Smaller bust – jewelled, frilly padded bikini top will boost your assets.
Larger tummy – a swimsuit with bold print, ruching or soft folds will disguise your tummy.  Sexy halterneck or strapless will show off bronzed shoulders to maximum effect.
Straight up and down – a swimsuit with cut away waist will create an hourglass effect.
Sporty boyish – bandana bikini tops with frills and ruching add volume to the bust while frilly bikini briefs will create curvy hips.

Look out for some great sarongs, kaftans and oversized shirts to wear as cover-ups over your swimwear.

Phase Eight have a new swimwear section in their East Street, Brighton branch.

Choosing your 'special' outfit

What a great time of the year with weddings, ladies days at the races, garden parties etc, all of which need that ‘special’ outfit.

Choosing the right outfit for our colour, style and shape can be a stressful and a time consuming operation.

Before you go out to the shops it may be an idea to look at a few websites to get some trend and colour ideas. When you go to the shops have an idea whether you are looking for a dress, skirt, trousers and whether you are wanting to match with a jacket or shoes.  Perhaps you may want to utilize accessories you already have so take them with you.

The outfit you choose must be comfortable and make sure you have comfy shoes, as any of these events you will be dressed up for the whole day and often standing around.

Many shops have hats, fascinators, jewellery and shoes to make the whole outfit which will make it easy to buy and choose.
