Zest4Life

A great new programme to 'Lose weight easily and re-gain your vitality' has started in the Brighton area with Lucy a qualified Nutritional Therapist. Lucy is currently enrolling for more sessions starting in May.

I am working with Lucy to help once participants have started to lose their weight and are looking at themselves with regard to their style and wardrobe. The programme lifts confidence and boosts self esteem and general well being.

Lucy has been holding pilot schemes with groups and individuals and it has been a huge success with everyone taking part.

Once participants start losing weight, their energy levels go up and confidence grows it is important for them to look at their wardrobes as they could well need an image update to suit their new shape and vitality.

STYLES AND COLOURS FOR SPRING

The main colours this season are the nude colours - peaches, creams, beiges, greys and whites and worn mixed together. The Bright colours feature greens, bright blues, oranges and reds. Khaki is popular again this year but the trousers and jackets are not so urban but much more tailored. Trousers vary from skinnies to the fabulous harem all in one suits. Skirts and dresses vary in length from very short worn with leggins to knee and maxi lengths. Think layers, tailoring and structured pieces.

Shoes and sandels are so varied this year there is something for everyone. Roman style strappy sandels to classic peep toe courts with killer heels, to kitten heels to ballerina flats.

DRESSING FOR THE SNOW

The snow is great but at the moment is very icey. Wear flat shoes and boots with a grip preferably rubber soles. Even wellies can look stylish if you think about your colours and clothing.

Dress in layers, think functional, make sure your clothes fit well and allow freedom of movement, keep warm and dry.

Hats, scarves and gloves add warmth, brightens up practical outerwear and adds a sense of fun and style.

For business, over dress your work clothes with a coat over a jacket and for women wearing skirts wear really thick tights or leggins that you can take off once you get inside. Wear boots or sensible shoes outside and take a change of shoe for work.

Tips for Shopping in the Sales

A purchase is only a bargain if it fits in with the rest of your wardrobe, suits you and you can afford it. Buying odd pieces because they are on sale will just sit in your wardrobe and never be worn.

Before you go shopping know what you have in your wardrobe and know the areas you need to add to.

Look for good classic staple items i.e. a black suit, cashmere jumper, wool cardigan/jacket, white blouse.

Update your existing wardrobe with shoes, belts and jewellery.

Check out the returns policy on sale goods if you are unsure when buying something.

DONT impulse buy.

DONT buy anything you need to slim to wear.

DONT buy anything without trying in on first.

Outfits MUST flatter your colour and shape. Dont go for fashion garments for the sake of fashion.
